Sedona. Where do I start? Yes, the place is magical in and of itself, but being a Sedona native turned Arizona Wedding and Elopement Photographer, I just can’t get over the special “feels like home” connection I have to little city. Not only do I enjoy visiting my home town, but I LOVE photographing weddings and intimate elopements surrounded by the beauty that is Sedona’s rocky red mountain-scape, which brings me to one of my FAVORITE elopements to date - Amira and Brandon’s Retro Cathedral Rock Elopement.
Amira and Brandon reached out with a simple vision of an intimate October Sedona elopement at Cathedral Rock, specifically at the reflection pools just above Crescent Moon Ranch. Their vision consisted of Disco Balls, their sweet pup named Zion, and their closest four friends… and let me tell you, their vision was a DREAM.
We met up at the trail head around 1pm and hiked the 10 minutes down to the pools where they held their short ceremony officiated by Amira’s best friend. The two tied the knot, signed their license on each other’s backs, and celebrated their love overlooking the stunning views that Cathedral Rock and the reflection pools have to offer.
We then spent about an hour photographing their romantic portraits before changing location to “Lover’s Knoll” for some additional photos of the newlyweds, before wrapping up their intimate Sedona elopement.
The day was short, sweet, and oh so retro, and I am so stoked to have been part of it.
